Consul General of the Netherlands in Erbil Janet Alberda visited Ishik University for a roundtable on Monday, February 20. The Consul General was welcomed by the Vice President Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, dean of Law Faculty Dr. Huseyin Cakillikoyak, the dean of Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economy Mr. Fatih Cura and the acting head of IRD department Mr. Ibrahim Halil Eyup. The hosts briefed the Consul General about Ishik University and ways to improve access to EU student exchange programs were discussed during the meeting.
The roundtable was attended by students mostly from the IRD department. Following an opening intervention by Mrs. Janet Alberda, the participants exchanged thoughts on a variety of regional and international issues including the changing political landscape in Europe, immigration, social and economic challenges in Kurdistan as well as the security in the Middle East context.
During the Q&A, the Consul General informed the audience about the areas of activity of the Dutch Consulate in Erbil.
